Are these Android readers a complete farce?!?

I use twitter on my Android, I wasn't satisfied 2 sentence news, I THOUGHT if I got a reader,i could read pages off-line, turns out it's EXACTLY the same amount as twitter, sorry maybe 1 sentence more. Pathetic. Or have I not understood, please enlighten me.
